7-day motorcycle tour of Ouarzazate

Day 1: Arrival in Ouarzazate
Arrive in Ouarzazate and transfer to your superior-category Riad. Depending on your arrival time, you could also visit the highlights of Ouarzazate’s Cinema City, including the film studios (one-hour guided tour), the Taourirt Kasbah and the Cinema Museum. Shortly before arriving in the desert metropolis of Ouarzazate, you can visit the famous Kasbah de Ben Haddou, a fortified mud city with multiple ksars and kasbahs that has served as the backdrop for a variety of films, including Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Prince of Persia. This magnificent city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In Ouarzazate, spend the night with dinner.

Day 2: Ouarzazate _ Dades _ Tinghir
On the second day, we start our KTM journey for the big adventure! Set off for the Skoura valley, the starting point for mountain trekking. This route passes through a number of rural Berber villages before skirting the M’Goun mountain to reach the Valley of the Roses and finally the magnificent Dades canyon. We climb from Boumalne Dades to Tinghir, where we can see the famous Todra canyon with its sheer rocky cliffs. We’ll be staying in a standard room, with dinner included.

Day 3: Tinghir _ Alnif _ Rissani _ Merzouga
We start the third day of our 7-day KTM motorcycle tour in the direction of Alnif, along a magnificent road between the two mountains of Djbel Saghro and Djbel Ougnat. Alnif, where we have lunch, is world-famous for its fossils. We then head for Rissani, a typical desert town with an interesting weekly local market. We’re getting close to the dunes! Rissani is only a short distance from the vast golden dune fields of Merzouga. We spend the night in a Superior Riad with dinner in Merzouga.

Day 4: Merzouga _ Ouzina _ Mharech _ Tafraout
The desert is at its most magnificent today as we approach Ouzina, with its golden dunes and dark mountains, lonely acacias and families of free-roaming camels. What a sight! We’ll pass through a few small Berber communities and perhaps meet some nomads. Get ready for vast sand dunes, a dry, sandy river and a few small mountains on the way to Tafraout. We arrive in Mharech in the evening and spend the night in a local inn for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Mharech _ Tagounit _Zagora
On the fifth day of our 7-day off-road motorcycle tour, we quickly cross a dry lake to reach a desert plateau near the Algerian border. This area is known as “Dinosaur Valley” due to the large number of dinosaur bones discovered nearby. After lunch, we’ll cross a short mountain range housing some copper mines, before descending into the lush Draa Valley and the town of Tagounite. We’ll stay in a superior room and dine in Zagora, where we can admire the traditional architecture of luminous mud bricks. We’ll visit local markets, meet friendly locals and learn more about traditional Berber culture as we rest.

Finally, you’ll reach the Gorges du Todra, a magnificent gorge carved out by the River Todra. Tineghir is a good place to spend the night.

Day 6: Zagora _ Agdez _ Draa Valley_ Ouarzazate
On the sixth day of our 7-day KTM motorcycle trip from Ouarzazate, we follow the Draa River back to Ouarzazate, passing through beautiful villages and valleys lined with date palms. After a lunch break in Agdz, we cross the immense mountains of the Anti-Atlas. We’ll continue on to Fort de l’Oasis, where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the peaceful and serene oasis along the river in the company of a guide, and learn about the way of life of the friendly locals. Return to Ouarzazate for a final night in a riad with dinner.

Day 7: Departure from Ouarzazate
Breakfast in your Riad, followed by transfers to the airport for your return flight, depending on your departure time (or the start of your personalized program).
